It's Cricut... Plus Birthday Time!

What a busy last couple of weeks it has been. Tuesday was Alex's Birthday, can you believe he is SIX now? Augh! I cannot believe I have a 6 year old! We surprised Alex with a big birthday gift- something he's been wanting since he was 2 but we were too scared to let him have one until now. It's a... "speedy car"!

also known as... a power wheels car! He's been calling them "speedy cars" ever since he was little. :) He absolutely loves it! He's been driving it around until he kills the battery every day this week! He also enjoys driving around his lady friends, what a naughty boy. ;)

His Birthday party was on Saturday, it was so much fun! We rented out a place called Play Zone, it has lots of bounceables and Lazer Tag. The kids had so much fun playing! The grown ups had fun playing lazer tag too. :)

His party was car themed, of course! I tried to get him to sway towards a different theme this year, since his last two birthdays have been car themed but he was very against that idea. Silly boy! He is so car obsessed. :)

I used my Cricut Cake for the very first time to create his birthday cake this year. It was actually really easy and fun! I was just pretty intimidated to use it. Cooking and I are not friends, normally everything that I make either burns or tastes awful but fortunately the cake turned out great, it was even edible! :)

Now speaking of the Cricut....

Have you been by the Cricut Blog lately? If not you must! Each week Cricut has been revealing new Digital Cartridges, made exclusively to be used in the Cricut Craft Room. Here are a few projects that I've created with some of the newest Digital Carts:

Card that I created with St. Patrick's Day. I love this cart, as does John. He's my Irish boy! I'm planning on using this one to make him a two year anniversary gift too, (Our anniversary is St. Patty's Day).

Next, Zodiac. I immediately fell in love with this cartridge, it's so awesome! I can't wait to play with it some more. I created this layout all about Alex, the Pisces!

When I saw that Cricut came out with a Philadelphia cartridge, I knew that it would be the perfect excuse to finally scrapbook my Philly photos! We visited family in the area nearly FOUR years ago and I still hadn't scrapped any of the photos that we took.

Bicycling: I think that just about anyone could get a lot of use out of this cart! I already have lots of photos of Alex on his bike and I'm sure I will take hundreds more through out my life time. Here's the first pic that I took of him on his bike when it was brand new.

Now these are just a few of the new digital carts that Cricut has come out with. There are so many more!

Have a great spring break! I don't know if it's yours this next week as well but I'm sure looking forward to it. Nine whole days of sleeping in! :)
