It's Been Too Long...

Since I have updated my blog!! Things never seem to slow down in my life, lol. I guess they've slowed down a LITTLE but I don't foresee myself being bored any time in the near future. :) That's a good thing right??

I just found out yesterday that I am going to Montana on Saturday. My Mom just had major neck surgery. She has been in pain since she was rear ended last August. The accident wrenched her neck and it took the doctors foreverrrr to figure out what was wrong with her. Long story short, her neck was broken and the doctors also discovered that she had arthritis in her neck that had been deteriorating her vertebrae for quite some time. There were sharp points on the three broken vertebrae in her neck that were poking into her spinal cord causing all the pain. During the surgery they fused those vertebrae together and filed down the sharp points that were beginning to form on them. My mom told me that she is feeling sooo much better already! She still has the after surgery pain, of course, but not he agonizing spinal cord pain that she has been dealing with for over half a year. I have been worried sick about her though! My sister came home from college this week to stay with her and take care of our family dog who is also very sick. We don't think she is going to make it much longer. :( She has cancer and has also been having seizures. My mom is more worried about the dog than she is about herself! I'm going up there to watch over the dog and make sure my mom doesn't hurt herself by trying to care for her. I'm going to make sure to wait on my mom hand and foot the whole time that I'm there. One bad thing about my mom is she tends to over do it when she's ill or injured and ends up making it worse, lol. Not really a bad thing, she's just a lot like me and hates feeling like she is unable to do anything! I'm not going to let her do anything though. I want her to get 100% better as soon as possible and start acting like my normal, fun, happy Mommy again! :D That's what I want more than anything in the world! Anyways, since my sister can only stay until Sunday I want to make sure someone is with her for at LEAST two weeks after the surgery. Her doctor thinks she will be doing a lot better by then, hopefully she'll almost be pain free by the time I leave! That's what I've been praying for every day.

I'm sure I'll get lots of scrapbooking while I'm up there. Alex and I are just going to chill at her house almost 24/7. I already started packing my scrapbook stuff for the trip tonight. It's so hard deciding what to bring, ugh! I can't pack toooo much. I jammed all of Alex's stuff to one side of his suitcase so I could use the other half for all my scrap supplies. He's a boy, he doesn't need to bring TOO much, right?? lol!

I'm also bringing along the kit I just received from Kraft Girl Kits. I get to be their guest designer for the month of May. I am super excited and it is such a cute kit! I can't wait to get started! Here is the sneak peek of her kit:

I'm also bringing along the new "Pretty Poppies" line by Autumn Leaves. It was designed by Kezia Whittaker, formerly known as the owner of Tinkering Ink. It is sooo pretty!! I have only made one card with it so far but I can't wait to make more!:

I have also finished all my layouts for my first two scrapbooking classes that I'm going to be teaching at Paper Crown starting on May 9th. Here are the beginners layouts:

Here are my layouts for the Advanced class on June 4th:

I am so excited and nervous about teaching my very first classes! My mom and some of my close scrapbook friends who have experience in teaching have already given me some great advice, thank you.

Here are some other random layouts and cards I have made just for fun within the past couple of weeks.

Oh, I got my haircut last week. It has been getting super hot out lately (I love hot weather, yay!), but the long hair was driving me NUTS! I cut over 6 inches off and it feels amazing! Some people asked me for photos. The other day I asked John to take some pics of me, and we ended up doing a spoof of the Austin Powers 2 photoshoot. (If you're a fan of the movies, you'll know what I'm talking about, lol!) It was hilarious at the time, but when I've tried to describe it to people they usually don't get it. My sister did though! She and I have the same weird sense of humor. So does John, I'm so lucky to have found someone as weird as I am, lol!

I'll be in Montana until May 7th, but I will for sure be posting to my blog earlier than that.
